1 Introduction

  1. The Salio Riding Center is located at Besiekierz Rudny 50, Zgierz municipality.
  2. The purpose of the Center's activities is to promote equestrian sports among adults, children, and youth, its positive impact on physical development, spreading healthy competition and sportsmanship, particularly by performing tasks in the scope of:
  • teaching and improving horseback riding for children, youth, and adults;
  • organizing recreational horseback riding tours, day camps, or riding camps;
  • organizing sports competitions and other events, including non-sporting ones;
  1. Besides activities aimed at achieving the objectives mentioned above, Salio Center operates horse boarding facilities, a holiday resort, and a restaurant.

2 General Provisions

  1. The provisions of this regulation apply to every person on the Center's premises.
  2. Every person entering the Center's premises is obliged to familiarize themselves with the regulations and comply with the rules contained therein.
  3. Using the Center's services is tantamount to accepting the regulations.
  4. The Center is not responsible for accidents caused by failure to comply with the regulations.
  5. Organizing events on the premises is conducted in accordance with applicable laws and the Center's regulations.
  6. Access to the Center is prohibited to persons who:
  • behave aggressively, provocatively, or in any way threaten safety or order;
  • are minors under 13 years old not accompanied by an adult.
  1. Persons on the premises must maintain proper order, follow safety rules, behave considerately towards others, and avoid actions that could spook the horses.
  2. Specifically prohibited on the premises are:
  • being in unauthorized areas;
  • consuming alcohol or narcotics;
  • smoking outside designated areas;
  • throwing objects or causing excessive noise that could frighten animals;
  • relieving oneself outside toilets, littering the property, and damaging infrastructure;
  • using equipment contrary to its intended purpose;
  • approaching ponds closer than 5 meters;
  • entering ditches;
  • entering the donkey stable enclosure;
  • approaching construction sites and construction or agricultural machinery;
  • approaching the horse carousel and paddocks without permission. Note that the carousel and paddock fences may be electrified.
  1. Dogs may be on the premises only when leashed. The person who brought the dog is responsible and must clean up after it.

3 Riding Lessons Regulations

  1. Riding lessons take place in the Center's riding arena in the large or small hall and in the small or large outdoor course or in the terrain.
  2. Rides are conducted only under instructor supervision. The Center's instructors hold recreational movement instructor qualifications specialized in horseback riding or other required qualifications. The Center is not responsible for rides conducted by instructors running their own businesses on the premises; proof of lessons with the Center's instructor is a receipt from the JKS Salio cash register.
  3. Lessons led by the Center's instructors are open to all persons who:
  • are 13 years old or older (younger participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian),
  • have no health contraindications for horseback riding (medical consultation is required in case of doubt).
  1. Participants must declare no health contraindications to horseback riding. For minors, parents or legal guardians must provide the declaration and consent.
  2. Each lesson must be scheduled with an instructor by contacting Reception for a specific date and time.
  3. Appointments can be made in person or by phone between 10:00 am and 7:00 pm. If unable to attend, the instructor must be informed no later than 7:00 pm the previous day. Otherwise, the participant pays half the lesson price upon their next visit, according to the price list on the website.
  4. If the instructor suspects a participant is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the instructor may refuse to conduct the lesson. No refunds will be made in such cases.
  5. Riders must attend wearing appropriate clothing, including:
  • ankle-high boots (even in summer) with hard soles,
  • long, preferably riding, trousers without seams on the saddle side,
  • upper clothing that does not restrict movement,
  • helmet or hard hat – mandatory for minors.
  1. Equipment rental is available at the Center. Participants are responsible for any damage, loss, excessive wear, or other misuse of rented equipment and must cover related costs. Participants must also look after rented items left on the premises without returning them.
  2. When renting equipment, the Center may require a deposit in cash or a valuable item as security.
  3. Riding attire must not include rustling or fluttering elements.
  4. The instructor may point out improper attire and issue binding instructions.
  5. The time set by the instructor for the rider's arrival is the start of horse preparation, not the start of the lesson, which includes:
  • leading the horse out of the stall and tying it at the designated spot,
  • brushing the horse thoroughly, removing mud and dust from hair, mane, and tail,
  • cleaning hooves with a hoof pick,
  • fitting the bridle and saddle.

The above does not apply to beginners.

  1. Late arrival does not extend lesson end time unless accepted by the instructor.
  2. Duration and fees for each lesson are listed on the Center's website price list.
  3. Each horseback riding lesson consists of the following parts:
  • horse preparation,
  • warm-up of horse and rider,
  • exercises planned for the lesson,
  • rider and horse relaxation.
  1. After the ride, the rider must:
  • lead the horse back to the stall,
  • unsaddle the horse,
  • clean the horse's hooves,
  • return the horse to the stall or pasture,
  • properly close the horse stall,
  • wash the bit,
  • put equipment back in the appropriate place.
  1. Riders are responsible for the condition of the equipment used and the animals entrusted to them. In case of damage, they must replace the equipment or pay its equivalent value.

4 Rider at the Center. Safety.

  1. During lessons, participants must obey all instructor’s commands and guidance.
  2. The following are prohibited on the premises:
  • approaching a horse from behind;
  • feeding horses without permission and under instructor supervision;
  • running and shouting;
  • bringing loud or restless dogs;
  • any form of violence toward horses;
  • entering stables without authorization.
  1. The riding arena rules are as follows:
  • lessons are led by an instructor unless riders use the arena only with their own horses;
  • riders make decisions and are responsible for their horses;
  • riders passing side by side pass on the left;
  • priority is given to riders moving at a higher gait or performing assigned exercises;
  • maintaining order and safety for oneself, other riders, and horses is essential.
  1. Stables rules are as follows:
  • only authorized persons may enter stables,
  • authorized persons must maintain calm and act within their authorization scope (e.g., when preparing a horse for riding, limit to related activities),
  • feeding horses, opening stalls, entering stalls, or releasing animals without permission is prohibited.
  1. It is informed that horses are naturally skittish, and their reactions to movements, objects, or people are unpredictable and potentially dangerous to riders or nearby people, possibly causing injuries. The Center is not responsible for injuries caused by unpredictable horse reactions.

5 Trail Riding Regulations

  1. The instructor decides on conducting trail rides considering riders' skill, weather, and terrain if the rider requests such activities.
  2. During trail rides, participants ride in formation and gait as required by the instructor.
  3. Participants are prohibited from overtaking other riders, especially the instructor.
  4. Riding on fields, meadows, or any crops is prohibited. Trail rides take place in locations designated by the instructor.

6 Liability

  1. By entering the Center, participants agree to the following contractual provisions.
  2. Before classes, the instructor informs participants about lesson procedures, safety rules, horse preparation (including saddling and riding), and handling. Participants not understanding instructions must immediately inform the instructor. In case of doubt, participants must seek the instructor’s guidance.
  3. If a participant cannot perform an exercise or instruction, they must immediately stop trying and inform the instructor.
  4. Participants must familiarize themselves with the Center's Regulations and all applicable regulations before their first visit.
  5. The Center's liability for damages to persons or property caused by participants is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  6. Specifically, there is no liability for damages resulting from failure to follow instructor commands, safety measures in horse handling and exercises, violation of rules on leading and riding, frightening animals, improper clothing or equipment, errors in animal handling technique, disregard for on-premises rules, damages when under the influence of alcohol, psychoactive substances, medications affecting control or participation, or health conditions affecting physical fitness or safely participating, including pregnancy. The Center is not liable for damages resulting from undisclosed health conditions to the instructor or failure to adapt exercises accordingly.
  7. The Center is not responsible for participants' belongings left on-site that are unnecessary for using Center services, especially valuables left in the changing room such as money, jewelry, credit cards, documents, or valuables.
  8. Participants must deposit valuables (wallets, money, credit cards, watches, jewelry, etc.) in a locked deposit at Reception. The deposit is paid; the fee is 10 PLN. If participants opt not to deposit valuables, the Center is not liable for loss, damage, or destruction of such property.
  9. The Center is liable only in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct. It is liable only for its employees.
  10. The Center is not responsible for normal wear and tear of participants' property during classes.
  11. The Center is not liable for damage caused by other participants or third parties who are not employees or representatives of the Center or persons who trespassed on the premises.
  12. Animals are not allowed on the premises unless agreed by the parties or this regulation provides exceptions. Any different arrangement requires written consent from Center authorities and the participant.
  13. Individual facility regulations on the premises may impose more detailed liability rules.
  14. The above provisions also apply to activities organized outside the Center's premises, including camps and trail rides. In such cases, the Center or owner is not responsible for any personal belongings participants carry, except those necessary for exercises.
  15. The Center is not liable for damage to participants' vehicles parked on-site. Participants must secure their vehicles against theft.
  16. Any participant or third party bringing an animal onto the premises (if allowed) is fully responsible for damages caused by their animal to the Center or others, including lack of supervision or negligence. The Center is not liable for damages caused by animals under participants’ supervision.

7 Personal Data

Signing a declaration and beginning use of the Center's services is equivalent to consenting to personal data processing by the Center. The data administrator is the Center, whose details are provided in the first paragraph of the Regulations. Personal data processing can be addressed via email at recepcja@salio.eu. The Data Protection Officer is Dorota Dworczyńska (contact same as the administrator). Data processing is based on Article 6(1)(a) of EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR), i.e., with the Participant's consent and as specified herein. Data will be retained no longer than 10 years after the last service used, covering potential limitation periods. Afterwards, data will be processed only as necessary for claims by the Participant or the Center. The Participant has rights to access, rectify, delete, restrict processing, object, and data portability. Complaints can be made to the supervisory authority (President of the Personal Data Protection Office). Providing data is voluntary but required for service use. Detailed technical and organizational regulations are governed by the Regulation and data protection laws. Participants may withdraw consent for data processing at any time, which is regarded as service termination, waiving claims against the Center except refund of unused prepaid passes. Participants may consent to image use for marketing purposes; such consent follows similar rules but lasts 3 years.

8 Final Provisions

  1. The Center management and instructors will make every effort to ensure the maximum safety level for participants but do not accept responsibility for accidents resulting from non-compliance with these regulations or random events. They also do not bear responsibility for unattended items on the premises.
  2. This Regulation applies throughout the Center regardless of other regulations. In case of conflicts, specific regulations for particular Center parts prevail.
  3. Each participant is covered by the instructor's civil liability insurance. Participants may purchase personal accident insurance independently.
  4. Participation implies acceptance of these regulations. Those who significantly violate them may be asked to leave the premises.
  5. Room usage rules are governed by separate regulations.
  6. These regulations come into force on 01.01.2018 and apply indefinitely.
